Striking architectural wall sculpture executed in welded steel during the late 1960s, at the height of the American Brutalist movement and the celebrated Artisan House production period.

Dimensions:  47ʺW × 6ʺD × 36ʺH

Composed of industrial cold-rolled steel rod arranged in a disciplined grid framework, supporting dimensional torch-cut rectangular plates. Original fabrication details remain beautifully intact: visible weld junctions, authentic heat bloom halos in blue and amber tones, and a warm brass-toned finish over steel that has aged naturally over five decades.

The mill striations in the rod stock, exposed fillet welds, and oxidation concentrated at stress points confirm true period construction rather than later reproduction. The structured modular rhythm and architectural restraint closely align with early Curtis Jeré studio works of the circa 1968–1972 era.

This piece presents strong dimensional depth and shadow play, creating dynamic visual movement depending on light and placement. Substantial in presence and scale, it functions as both sculpture and architectural focal point.

An authentic Artisan House–era Brutalist statement piece — ideal for collectors of mid-century metalwork and interiors seeking sculptural impact with historical integrity.

Condition Notes

Good vintage condition consistent with age. Original hand-welded steel construction with visible heat patination and natural finish variation. Light surface oxidation primarily present on the reverse; the front presents cleanly with warm, authentic patina. All welds intact and structurally sound. No observed breaks, repairs, or structural damage. Strong dimensional presence with excellent shadow depth.
